9xDead are a dark rock band from South Wales, United Kingdom.

Biography

Formed in 1998 by drummer Gary Appleby, 9xDead underwent a number of line-up changes and released two well received albums on independent labels before splitting up in 2007. In 2009 Appleby began putting a new 9xDead together. The band went on to make 3 appearances at the well regarded Hard Rock Hell festival including the 2010 Road Trip and opening the 2nd stage of the UK festival in 2010 when Dumpy's Rusty Nuts were forced to pull out at the last minute. The band took much of 2011 off from live performances to record their highly anticipated album Cursed (9xDead album) with production duties handled by guitarist James Radford.

After a number of line up changes the band was put on an open ended hiatus in May 2013.

In May 2015 videos of two new tracks were uploaded to the band's official YouTube channel, Samael [1] and Lucifer.[2] This was followed by the relaunch of the bands official website,[3] announcing the band had reformed with Gary Appleby (formerly drums, now on vocals) and Adam Rykala (Guitar) comprising part of the same lineup that had recorded Mortalitas . A number of tracks also appeared on the bands official ReverbNation page.[4] These tracks marked a much darker sound to the bands newest incarnation, mixing Goth and Doom overtones.

In August 2015 John Juliette Marauder joined the band on drums.
