Anna van der Breggen (born 18 April 1990) is a Dutch racing cyclist.[1] She competed in the 2013 UCI women's road race in Florence.[2] While participating in the Team Time Trial at the 2014 Road World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain, van der Breggen broke her pelvis in a crash sustained by her Rabo Liv team.[3] However, she recovered to win her first race of 2015, the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Together with Ellen van Dijk she escaped with 30 km to go from a front group of 15 riders on the Molenberg. The duo extended their advantage over the cobbled sections that followed, holding off the chase group to the line, where Van der Breggen won the sprint from Van Dijk.[4] In June 2015, she competed in the inaugural European Games, for the Netherlands in cycling winning a bronze medal in the Road Race. In December 2015, she won the Gerrit Schulte Trophy, the award for the best Dutch of cyclist of the year.[5]
