Arrondissements of the Var department

The 3 arrondissements of the Var department are:

1. Arrondissement of Draguignan, (subprefecture: Draguignan) with 58 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 231,777 in 1990, and was 264,632 in 1999, an increase of 14.18%.
2. Arrondissement of Toulon, (prefecture of the Var department: Toulon) with 34 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 497,116 in 1990, and was 526,755 in 1999, an increase of 5.96%.
3. Arrondissement of Brignoles, (subprefecture: Brignoles) with 61 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 86,556 in 1990, and was 107,054 in 1999, an increase of 23.68%.
