Awqa Punta (Quechua awqa enemy, opponent, rival; hostile, local Quechua punta peak; ridge; first, before, in front of,[2][3][4] hispanicized spelling Auga Punta) is an archaeological site in Peru located in the Huánuco Region, Huamalíes Province, Jircan District. It is situated at a height of about 3,700 m (12,100 ft) on a mountain named Hirkan (Jircán), near the village of Urpish.[1]
