Berkley Square was designed in 1949 by Paul Revere Williams and is named after Thomas L. Berkley, an African American attorney from Oakland, California.[2][4] The historic district contained 148 homes.[2][3] It was built in the African American West Las Vegas area of Las Vegas, Nevada.[3] The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.[5] Terry and Jerry Holmes was born at 512 Burns in Berkley Square on March 3, 1951to Canary and Clarence Holmes.
