Louis William "Billy" Schmidt (29 December 1887 – 23 October 1975)[1] was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) in 1907 then in the Victorian Football League (VFL) from 1908 to 1911 and again in 1921. He played for the St Kilda Football Club between 1912 and 1914 and again from 1918 until 1920.

He coached Warracknabeal to three premierships between 1921 and 1930, then coached Richmond for one season, 1933, where they lost the Grand Final to South Melbourne.
