Buffalo Box; plumbing; often referred to as the B-Box which exists between a building and the district's water main lines, in which is housed a means of shutting off and/or turning water on for the building specific to that particular Buffalo Box.

The B-Box is called a "Buffalo Box" because it originated in Buffalo, New York. It usually consists of a metal tube with a removable or sliding lid, allowing access to the turn-key within.
