Cyrus Eugene Woodruff, was born St. Clair,Michigan on April 8, 1871 and died State College,Pennsylvania on March 20, 1944. He was an American reverend,[1] educator, electrical engineer and college football coach. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1900.

Coaching career

Alma

Woodruff was the head college football coach for the Alma Scots located in Alma, Michigan. He held that position for the 1896 season. His coaching record at Alma was 2 wins, 0 losses and 1 tie.[2] As of the conclusion of the 2010 season, this ranks him #23 at Alma in total wins and #4 at the school in winning percentage (.833).[3]

Iowa State

In 1900, Iowa State College hired Woodruff as a "director of physical culture and instructor in Latin."[4] Woodruff served as the fifth head coach for the Iowa State football team during the 1900 season.[5] His career coaching record at Iowa state was 2 wins, 5 losses, and 1 ties. This ranks him 26th at Iowa state in total wins and 23rd at Iowa state in winning percentage.[6]
