CKRI-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting a classic hits format at 100.7 FM in Red Deer, Alberta. The station is branded on-air as 100.7 CRUZ FM and is owned by Harvard Broadcasting.

The station launched on Tuesday, August 6, 2010 as "100.7 The River", with the first song being "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas, and aired an adult contemporary format. During the Christmas season the station rebranded with an all-Christmas music format as "Red Deer's Christmas Station".

On August 22, 2014, at 3:00 PM, after playing "A Change Would Do You Good" by Sheryl Crow, CKRI-FM flipped to classic hits as "100.7 CRUZ FM." The first song on "Cruz" was "Start Me Up" by The Rolling Stones.

License history

CKRI received approval by the CRTC on October 17, 2008, along with other applications to serve Red Deer, which the commission approves in part to use the 100.7 MHz frequency:[1]

  • Touch Canada Broadcasting Limited Partnership will broadcast a new adult contemporary gospel (Christian radio) format.[2]
  • L.A. Radio Group will broadcast a new modern rock format.[3][4]
