Background and composition

Inna signed early 2014 a deal with Atlantic Records. Thus, she recorded the song at the Atlantic Studios located in Los Angeles. "Cola Song" is a latin-house song, containing minimal influences of eurodance. It was written by Breyan Isaac, Andrew Frampton, Andreas Schuler and J Balvin, and produced by Thomas Joseph Rozdilsky, Schuller and Balvin. The official single premiered alongside its video on April 14, 2014 through Warner and Atlantic Records. She even describes in an interview with Directlyrics.com how the song is "very summery and perfect for a long summer day at the beach and a crazy party at night". Inna revealed that she is "glad to work with J Balvin and that when she heard 'Cola Song' she knew this would be the perfect opportunity to work with him".[3]

Music video

The video clip was officially set to be released on April 15, 2014, but it was leaked to YouTube on April 14, 2015. It was filmed on two different beaches in Costa Rica and Barcelona by her long-time director/cinematographer John Perez, who previously worked with her for videos such as "WOW", "Caliente" and "In Your Eyes". He has worked with artists like Shakira, Rihanna, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. A first teaser of the video premiered on April 10, 2014 on Inna's YouTube channel, showing a portion of the clip. "I feel that 'Cola Song' is one of my sexiest videos," Inna says. "It makes me feel good about myself, full of energy, ready for a long and beautiful summer."[3]
