David Gillard

David Gillard (born 23 June 1971), is a British rower who represented Cambridge in the 1991, 1992 and 1993 Boat Races.[1][2] He rowed for Great Britain at the Szeged Reservoir, Hungary in 1989; Linz Ottenshelm, Austria (1990); Naro Lago, San Giovanni, Italy (1991); and the Nations Cup Glasgow (1992).[3] In 1996 he rowed in the VIII that won the Grand Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta.[1]

Life

Gillard was born 23 June 1971 and educated at Bedford Modern School[1] and St Catharine's College, Cambridge.[2]

Gillard represented Cambridge in the 1991, 1992 and 1993 Boat Races.[1]He rowed for Great Britain at the Szeged Reservoir, Hungary in 1989; Linz Ottenshelm, Austria (1990); Naro Lago, San Giovanni, Italy (1991); and the Nations Cup Glasgow (1992).[3] In 1996 he rowed in the VIII that won the Grand Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta.[1]

Gillard chaired the Cambridge selection process for the 2005 Boat Race.[4]
