Designer stubble is a short growth of a man's facial hair that became popular in the 1980s. This style was worn and reinvented by singer George Michael[1] and actor Don Johnson and was adopted by many others.[2] Several companies manufacture beard trimmers designed to maintain designer stubble,[3] which is also known as "five o'clock shadow".[4] It has also made a comeback in the early 2000s due to its popularization by David Beckham and George Clooney.
