Elizabeth O'Neill Verner (1883–1979) was an artist, author and lecturer from Charleston, South Carolina. Her etchings, drypoints and pastels of Charleston are her best-known works. Verner studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and was one of the leading artists in the Charleston Renaissance.[1] She was inspired by two of her Charleston teachers Gabrielle D. Clements and Ellen Day Hale; [2] Alice Ravenel Huger Smith was another mentor.[3] She also made many drawings in Charleston and in other places around the world.
