Far Eastern College – Silang (also known as FEU Cavite) is a private college in Silang, Cavite, a municipality 43 kilometers south of Manila in the Philippines. Established in 2009, the college offers programs in Tourism, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Psychology, Information Technology, Education, Accountancy, Marketing and Financial Management . It operates under the supervision of the Far Eastern University in Manila.

History

In January 2009, a ground-breaking ceremony marked the start of the construction of the FEU Silang campus in Metrogate Estates Silang, an exclusive subdivision. Finished in 2010, it had two environmentally-friendly buildings, one for the basic education department and the other for the tertiary department. The campus stands in six-hectare parcel of land.

The school offers basic education and tertiary courses in hotel management, tourism, business, education, and health-related sciences.[1]

Campus

Academic Buildings

Presently, there are two academic buildings on campus: the basic education building and the tertiary building. The architecture of the buildings were designed by David Lichauco. Ms. Mona and Soler Santos on the other hand created the artwork which became the basis of the facades of the said two buildings.[2]

High ceilings and large windows were incorporated into the design of the buildings allowing as much air inside as possible and minimizing the use of air-conditioning.

Dormitory

The FEU Cavite Dormitory, is known by its name TAM-Bahay. It broke ground in November 2014 and was opened in June 2015. It stands on a 1.29-hectare piece of land adjacent to the Tertiary building. It has three floors and can accommodate 120 people. It also has a room for two persons with disabilities.[3]

Community

Since the school is located inside a private village, free shuttle services have been introduced to ease the students' commute. There are shuttles serving the town proper of Silang and the main gate of the subdivision where the campus stands.

In 2015, the official student publication of the college, Simbuhan, was launched.
