France–Haiti relations refers to the current and historical relationship between France and Haiti. France colonized and controlled what became Haiti from the mid-seventeenth century until the Haitian Revolution overthrew the settler rule in 1804.

France refused to acknowledge Haitian independence until 1825 and thereafter only did so for 150 million gold francs, later reduced to 90 million gold francs. A month after the January 2010 Haiti earthquake, French President Nicholas Sarkozy became the first French leader to visit Haiti during a four-hour visit.[1]
