Early years

Cornwell attended Canyon High School. He accepted a scholarship to the University of Southern California, where he contributed with his blocking at the tight end position.

He is mostly known for catching a last second touchdown pass from quarterback John Mazur, that gave his team a 28-24 victory over second ranked Oklahoma.[1] Prior to this play, he only had one reception in his college career.

Professional career

He was mainly used for blocking purposes and was the backup to Doug Cosbie.[3] He was released before the start of the 1986 season.[4]
