Gillian Attard M.Q.R. (born 3 February 1983) is a Maltese actress, singer, television personality, and Vocal Coach.

Early years
Attard grew up in Żejtun. She sings in Maltese, English and Italian. She has hosted a local popular make-over television show Cinderella. In 1994, she released her first album, Messagg t'Imhabba, that included fourteen tracks, thirteen of which are in her native tongue.
The singer started her singing career at a very young age. Unluckily for her, she lost her mother very early in her childhood. A song was written in her mom's memory, Quddiem l-inkwatru tal-Madonna (In front of the Madonna's picture), sung by the young Gillian herself. She took part of the first edition of "POPin" which promoted new local artists. She went from one phase of "POPin" into another performing Maltese songs originally composed by Maestro Dominic Galea. Attard won the first edition of "POPin" and represented Malta in a song contest held early that Summer in Belarus, where she sang the English version of the song ("You touched my Soul") representing Malta in this year¹s OGAE contest.
In 2002, she made her debut in the annual music festival "L-Ghanja tal-Poplu" (The people's ode). She performed Xi darba min jaf. The song placed a close second and was one of the hot favourites in the festival. In September 2002, she took part in another song contest, "The Independence Song Contest", held annually as part of Malta's Independence Day on 21 September celebrations. On 3 August 2003, Attard will be of the acts in the "Summer Nights Festival" concert, starring also the Irish singer Johnny Logan.
Xi darba min jaf was chosen by OGAE Malta following a pre-selection including 20 tracks. A jury made up of OGAE Malta members voted for all entries and eventually Xi darba min jaf was declared as the winning song. First runner up was Georgina's Fomm il-vjolin (The violin's hymn).
In 2002, she co-hosted and produced the One TV-show Chiara & Friends with singer Chiara Siracusa. In 2003, she presented the Sunday show Ghal Kull Hadd (One TV) Because of her popularity she hosted the make-over show Cinderella (One TV) in 2006 and on (Net TV) in 2007. At the same time she wanted to extend her artistic abilities. She presented the Tuesday prime-time show Pumpkin (on One TV). Each episode consists of taking one car in poor condition and restoring it, as well as customizing it. In 2002, the Maltese actress and TV presenter Eileen Montesin offered Attard her first film role in the television series Under Cover 4 (One TV).
Presently Gillian Attard maintains a very busy schedule with a combination of music direction, vocal coaching, extensive performing, and choral preparation.
Malta Music Awards 2014
Gillian Attard received an award as part of the Malta Music Awards 2014 – the biggest music awards ceremony on the island. Gillian was awarded the ‘Recognition Award'.[1]
The Winning Team of The Junior Eurovision 2013 among Republic Day honour recipients
On Saturday, 30 November 2013, Gaia Cauchi, a young Maltese singer, won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013, a European competition for young singers, held in Kiev, Ukraine. This is Malta’s first success in a prestigious European song competition and the first within EBU organised competition.[2]
At this competition, the song The Start was written by Gaia Cauchi and Matt Muxu, and was composed by Gaia Cauchi, Elton Zarb & Gillian Attard.[3]
Gillian Attard is the Vocal coach of the young girl Gaia Cauchi.
On 13 December 2013, Attard received the Midalja għall-Qadi tar-Repubblika along with Gaia Cauchi and the rest of the Junior Eurovision team.[4]

Gillian, technical director of the Academy has helped shaped the careers of several budding stars including Christabelle Borg, Sarah Farrugia,[6] Federica Falzon,[7] Veronica Rotin,[8] Shauna Vassallo,[9] Davinia Pace, Ilenia Camilleri, Naomi Cutajar,[10] Maxine Pace[11] and most recently, Gaia Cauchi.
