The Gola malimbe or Ballman's malimbe (Malimbus ballmanni) is a species of bird in the Ploceidae family. It is found in Ivory Coast, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
The common name and scientific name commemorate the German geoscientist Peter Ballmann who also collected birds, including one of the first specimens of this species.[2]
