Grande Prairie School District No. 2357 or the Grande Prairie Public School District is a publicly funded school district serving approximately 7,800 students in grades P-12 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada since 1912.[1] GPPSD is responsible for delivering the Alberta provincial curriculum, as directed by the provincial ministry of education, Alberta Education.[2]

Mission

The Grande Prairie Public School District is a learning community in which every student succeeds.[3]

Universal Guiding Principles

For everything we decide and do, we will hold ourselves accountable and we will ask:

  • Is it good for students?
  • Will it help build trust and good relationships?
  • Will it help us improve?
  • Is it a responsible thing to do?
  • Are we being open, honest and ethical?

Schools

Currently the Grande Prairie Public School District is composed of 14 schools. In addition, a new high school is currently under construction and a new K-8 school is currently in the design stage. As the City of Grande Prairie continues to grow, the GPPSD Board of Trustees continues to advocate for the addition of more schools to help address overcrowding in District schools.[4]
