He is able to play in any defensive midfielder role, but has primarily played as a left back. He has also played in central midfield.He is often considered to be one of the best young defenders in the west of Scotland. Born and raised in Gourock, Scotland. He was scouted aged 6 by Rangers, where he remained until 2012. At Kilmarnock Greg quickly made an impression, captaining both the u17 and u20 youth teams before making his progression into first team football in 2016.

Club career

He made his first team debut for Kilmarnock, starting at left back, at home to Scottish Premiership team, Dundee United in a 4–2 defeat. He then made his second start in the Scottish Premiership Playoff Final in a sensational 4-0 victory to beat Scottish Championship team Falkirk 4-1 on aggregate. His impact on the game was well known featuring at left back.
