Hans Tostrup (20 October 1799, Hjelmeland – 27 January 1856) was a Norwegian politician.

He hailed from Hjelmeland,[1] and was the son of infantry captain Nicolay Tostrup and a brother of goldsmith Jacob Tostrup. Another brother Christoffer co-owned the company Tostrup & Mathiesen.[2] Through his brother Jacob, Hans Tostrup was an uncle of Otto Tostrup.[3]

He started a military career, but due to declining vision he switched to a civil servant career, graduating as cand.jur. in 1824. He was acting County Governor of Jarlsberg og Laurvigs Amt in 1843, County Governor of Nordre Bergenhus Amt from 1844 to 1852,[1] and County Governor of Kristians Amt from 1852 to 1854.[4] He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1848, representing Nordre Bergenhus Amt.[5] He stood for re-election, but failed.[1]
