Harlakhi (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (Hindi: हरलाखी विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र) is an assembly constituency in Madhubani district in the Indian state of Bihar.

Overview

As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 31. Harlakhi (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Harlakhi and Madhwapur community development blocks; Karhara, Samada, Salha, Teoth, Mahamadpur, Betauna and Manpaur gram panchayats of Benipatti CD Block.[1]

Harlakhi (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 6. Madhubani (Lok Sabha constituency).[1]

In the November 2010 state assembly elections, Shaligram Yadav of JD(U) won the Harlakhi assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Ram Naresh Pandey of CPI. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Ram Naresh Pandey of CPI defeated Sitaram Yadav of RJD in October 2005 and February 2005. Sitaram Yadav of RJD defeated Ram Naresh Pande of CPI in 2000. Ram Naresh Pande of CPI defeated Veena Vadani Pande of Congress in 1995. Veena Vadani Pande of Congress defeated Ram Naresh Pande of CPI in 1990. Mithilesh Kumar Pandey of Congress defeated Baidya Nath Yadav of CPI in 1985 and 1980. Baidya Nath Yadav of CPI defeated Shakoor Ahmed of Congress in 1977. [2][3]
