Helianthodae is a supertribe in the family Asteraceae,[1][2] the aster family, containing the tribes Anthrosimeae, Coreopsideae, Eupatorieae, Helenieae, Heliantheae, Inuleae, and Tageteae.[1] This supertribe was discovered in 2004 after studying the DNA of plants in the family Asteraceae.[3] The authors used a broad definition of Heliantheae including Bahieae, Chaenactideae, Madieae, Millerieae, Perityleae, and Polymnieae.
