Hexi trams
Hexi tram (opened in 2014) is one of two new tramlines that serve the city of Nanjing, China. These lines are part of Nanjing trams, which is an above ground trolly system in Nanjing. The tram began its first trial run on August 13.[1] The tram was built to help build infrastructure 2014 Summer Youth Olympics
Overview
Hexi tram begins at the Nanjing Metro Line 2 Olympic station. The terminus is located in the southern Hexi New District Fishmouth Wetlands Park area.[1]
The hexi tram covers 7.76km with a total of 13 stations that intersect in four points with Nanjing’s existing subway lines.The tramline's stops include: Olympic station, Fuchunjiang station, Yuan Tong station, Convention and Exhibition Center, the City station, Children's Hospital, Dimness Stand, Tianhe Road, Huaihe Road station, Tianbao Road station, Honghe Road station, the Ganges River Road station, and Xinhe Road station, for a total of 13 stations.
The tram runs completely at ground level and features eco-friendly technologies and many modern amenities which include an on-board storage battery and a pantograph charging system at each of its stations.[1]
