The House at 1008 Beacon Street in Newton, Massachusetts is a well-preserved suburban Shingle/Colonial Revival house. The 2 1/2 story wood frame house was built c. 1897. It is predominantly Shingle in character with patterned wooden shingles in its oversized gambrel end gables. The main entry is accessed via an arch made of dressed stone. The frieze between the second and third floors is decorated with wooden swags, a Colonial Revival feature.[2]
