The Islamic Azad University, Majlesi Branch (MBIAU) is one of the branches of Islamic Azad University which is located in south of Isfahan. It is a technical university with four departments.

Mission and Perspective
Majlesi Branch, Islamic Azad University, benefiting from knowledgeable professors and advanced workshop and laboratory equipment and taking into account the principles of intellectualism, initiativism and innovation is a prosperous university in higher education, research and technology. Majlesi Branch, Islamic Azad University is known as a pioneering university in engineering as well as other majors and fields and has initiated new branches and interdisciplinary majors. Majlesi Branch, Islamic Azad University is trying to achieve higher educational quality among Iranian universities. It is believed that being a pioneer can solve industrial problems through applying research projects, achieving modern technology, and the nativization of imported technology. Knowing this fact, Iranian as well as international students can achieve their goals. Students in both physical and virtual places will be so qualified that are considered so valuable by the society, this is because of their commitment and experience.

Statistics and Information:
Majlesi is located 20 km from Mobarakeh and was established 1993 by the order of President Hashemi Rafsanjani. The city was named by Isfahan’s (Emam Jome’), which was selected from among eight names. Majlesi Branch, Islamic Azad University, as a college city, is located in the center of the town. Mobarakeh Steel Complex and Chehelsotoon Power Plant are among the industries that are adjacent to this city.

Employing and empowering the faculty
This university has 348 full-time and part-time faculty, and hourly-paid instructors. The library resources include 84234 books, MA and PhD theses, and 103 national and international journals. Also, laboratories and workshops, 73 industrial workshops and 101 technical and engineering laboratories are other features of the university. The department of “Industries-University Interconnections” is intended to encourage creative and entrepreneur students to do research and be active in educational affairs. This university is also very close to major industries such as Mobarakeh Steel Complex and Steel Mill Factory. The university also conducts off-campus research projects and makes contracts with the industries in the region.

Electrical Engineering
The department of Electrical Engineering offers associate degree in electrical engineering, and Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, master of engineering in telecommunication (In 3 divisions: Communication system, Field,and Optics) and Mechatronic (in 3 Division: Automation, Human-computer interaction and Robotics) and PhD in Telecommunication and Electronics. The department has an IEEE student branch, and established IEEE communication society-chapter in Iran in 2012.
Computer Engineering
The department of Computer Engineering offers associate degree in computer software, and Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering.
Metallurgy Engineering
The Metallurgy Engineering Department offers only undergraduate courses. It is among the few universities in Iran which has a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Laboratory.[citation needed]
Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering Department offers undergraduate courses, and graduate course in energy management.

This branch of Islamic Azad University has been the pioneer in Electrical Engineering journal publication in IAU. The university is currently publishes 5 journals in different areas in Electrical Engineering:
