Jalalabad, Shahjahanpur (Hindi: जलालाबाद (शाहजहाँपुर), Urdu: جلال آباد Jalālābād) is a city and a municipal board in Shahjahanpur district of the Indian state Uttar Pradesh.

As of the 2011 India census,[2] Jalalabad had a population of 31,112. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 49%. Commercial significance

Jalalabad is situated between major cities of Uttar Pradesh like Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly. It connects west U.P. to East U.P. by a road through which the majority of transportation occurs.Now after Kola Ghat bridge(second longest bridge of u.p.) constructed,the easiest road to Delhi is via Badaun Distt. without any heavy traffic.Jalalabad has a lots of farming and very fertile lands, where mainly potatoes,wheat and rice are cultivated.In fruits variety of mangos and guavos are harvested in the lots of gardens. The famous mango gardens of Hajiji's are situated in Barenda village.

According to Indian mythology, Jalalabad is known as birthplace[3] of Lord Parashurama. His father Maharshi Jamadagni had his Ashram in this city where Parashurama was born. His birthplace is still called as "Renuka Kuti" (Renuka was his mother). Hence some people also call Jalalabad as Parashurampuri (en. a city of lord Parashurama).
