Jean-Baptiste-Victor Coquille (11 November 1820 – 17 January 1891), was a French lawyer and political journalist.

Biography

Coquille was born at Percey, Yonne, in north-central France. He was educated at Faculty of Paris, earning his law degree in 1840. For many years he collaborated with Charles de Coux and Louis Veuillot in L'Univers. Coquille had been part of its editorial staff since 1845 and worked there until the paper was suppressed in 1860. He returned to L'Univers in 1883, under the editorship of Eugène Veuillot.

From 1848 to 1852, he was a member of the General Council of Yonne.

He died in Paris.
