Jeff Taylor is an American businessman who is the founder of the online jobs site Monster.com. He is a graduate of the University Without Walls program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.[1][2] In August 2005, he left Monster to found a new venture called Eons.com, a social networking website for people over age of 50.[3] In 2008, Taylor started Tributes.com, which is an online obituaries resource.[4]

Recognized as an innovator and visionary in both the Internet and career industries[by whom?], Taylor reinvented the way job hunters see employment. His "monster idea," conceived at the dawn of the World Wide Web, quickly became one of the first dot-com companies (454th registered domain on the Web) and has since become the world's leading online career site. Today, the Monster global network consists of local content and language sites in over 50 countries and serves over 30 million unique visitors monthly.

He is also the founder of a baby boomer incubator that spawned 4 companies: eons.com, Eons Boom Media (EBN), Meetcha.com, and Tributes.com. Eons was the first and largest social network for boomers who wanted to explore their passions, keep in touch with friends, and connect with interesting people to share life experiences. Eons, EBM and Meetcha were all sold in Q2-2011. Tributes.com—is the destination for national and local obituary news with nearly 90 million obituaries and partnerships with thousands of funeral homes.

Taylor is a frequent speaker for Fortune 500 companies and major industry events in technology, brand/marketing and human capital as well as a commencement and subject matter speaker at colleges and universities. He is also a regular guest on CNBC. Taylor has co-authored 3 books under the Monster Careers title offering job seekers step-by-step plans for interviewing, finding the job, and networking.

Taylor serves on the Board of Advisors of Berklee College of Music as well as a number of technology companies. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst; a Certificate-Owner/President Management (OPM) Program, Executive Education, Harvard Business School; and an Honorary Doctorate from Bentley College. Taylor is an avid DJ for almost 30 years under the name Jefr Tale. He has a weekly show on Sirius/XM Electric Area on Thursday nights and recently started buffalo.Dj, a talent agency for DJ's.
