The Journal of Cheminformatics is a peer-reviewed open access scientific journal that was established in 2009, published by Chemistry Central. The current editors-in-chief are Christoph Steinbeck (European Bioinformatics Institute) and David Wild (Indiana University).[2] According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2014 impact factor of 4.547.[3] The most cited paper at the moment is on OpenBabel which was cited more than 430 times mid 2015, according to Web of Science.[4]
The journal has issued a few special issues ("article collections") in 2011 and 2012, covering topics like PubChem 3D,[5] the chemical Semantic Web[6] and RDF,[7] and the InChI.[8]
