Joy Whitlock (born August 13, 1980) is a Christian musician and songwriter who has recently appeared in the Contemporary Christian market. Her songs primarily consist of a Folk/Indie blend. She has recorded and released one EP, The Fake EP released in 2005, and one full-length album, God and a Girl released September 16, 2008, both on Ardent Records out of Memphis. The album was given four out of five stars by Christianitytoday.com where she is compared to artists like Jennifer Knapp and Kendall Payne.Christianity Today

Joy grew up in several different areas of Mississippi and spent a few years in Illinois as well. She moved to Memphis at the age of 17, and now considers it her home. Joy cites a trip to Nashville to see the Lilith Fair tour as her inspiration to learn to play music.
