Juan Antonio Payno (born 1941) is a Spanish writer and academic.

Biography
Juan Antonio Payno was born in Madrid. At the age of 19 he wrote his first novel, The Course, with which he managed to win the 1961 Nadal Prize. He abandoned literature to dedicate himself to teaching, being a professor of Economic Structure at the Complutense, Bilbao and Valladolid universities, and finally in a private one, until 35 years later when he published his second work: Romance for the Right Hand of a Left-hand Orchestra.[1] He also held several positions in Study Services and the CSIC.
