Kök-Jar (Kyrgyz: Көк-Жар, Russian: Кок-Джар) is a village in the southwest of Nookat District, Osh Region, Kyrgyzstan. Its population was 2,786 in 2009.[1]
Famous people from Kök-Jar include Choton Baatyr (Чотон Баатыр) who killed Alimbek Datka (Kurmanjan Datka's husband, and Minister of the Kokand Khanate), and Mitalip Mamytov (Миталип Мамытов) who performed the first brain surgery in Kyrgyzstan.
