KWordQuiz is a computer program designed to teach new vocabulary, which is integrally part of KDE Education Project, which is part of KDE. This program is available under GNU GPL licence. KWordQuiz use kvtml format.[1] It supports all languages because it supports Unicode.[2] KWordQuiz can help teach other subjects, such as geography.[3]
Learning
The two columns display allows the student to enter words and translations. "Flashcards" display a word and allow the student to enter a translation. "Multiple choice" displays a word and three possible translations, allowing the student to choose the correct one. Another approach displays a word for the student to translate manually.[clarification needed].[4][5]
Similar programs
In KDE 4 KWordQuiz is replacement for KVocTrain from KDE 3. It also supports Windows, Mac OS X and iPad under the name WordQuiz.[2] KDE includes a program with similar purpose named Parley.[6]
