Muhammad Kashif Shahid (Urdu: محمد کاشف شاہد) (born 31 January 1985) commonly known as Kashif Butt (Urdu: کاشف بٹ) is a Pakistani poet.[1][2][3] He is also a story writer,[4][5][6] critic and TV host.[7][8] His writings are free from topos and revolve around the orbit of his ideological and philosophical circle. Reflections of romance and bitterness of going time appear side by side in his writings.[9][10]

Early life

Kashif Butt was born in a Kashmiri tribe of Punjab on 31 January 1985. His father Shahid Iqbal Butt belongs to Wazirabad and served for Government of Pakistan at Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that's why Kashif spent his earlier life at Hazara Division.[11] Kashif Butt started his academic career from F.G.Public High School POF Havelian Cantt in 1990 & completed his Post Graduation (MSc Organic Chemistry) from Hazara University, Mansehra.[12] After completion of academic courses, he was appointed as a Quality control Engineer at "Dewan Salman Fibre Ltd"[13] which is the largest petrochemical plant in Pakistan having four continuous lines producing 104000 tons polyester staple Fibre per annum and two continuous lines producing 27000 tons per annum of acrylic Staple Fibre and Dyed tow. In the year 2010, he joined the Qarshi Industries (Pvt) Ltd[14] which is also a remarkable medicinal and food product industry of Pakistan. In 2013 he joined Haidri Beverages Pvt Ltd[15] (PEPSICO Bottling Company) as Manager Food Safety & Quality Control. He gained much famous among the management, colleagues and subordinates because of his very impressing behaviour and knowledge in a very short time. Later on he joined Pak Foods[16] Rawslpindi as a Chief Operating Officer. Pak Foods is an industrial group having seven operating units in Rawalpindi and surroundings. Being a head of group his role was remarkable. In April, 2015 he left Pakistan for higher studies in South Korea.

Literary career

As a poet, Kashif Butt started his career in the year 1998, when he was the student of 8th standard, his early poems were published in daily and weekly papers. In the Year 2004, he joined Qalam Karwaa'n,[17] a well known literary organisation of Hazara Division, In the same year he started his career as story writer and columnist. Later on he was elected as a Press Secretary for the said organisation in March 2006 while in the November 2009, he was elected as a Senior Vice-President for Qalam Karwaa'n. On 18 March 2012, he was elected as a 6th President of Qalam Karwaan in the 13th annual election of the organisation. But soon he left the organisation due to personality clash with the few members of organisation. He is also serving as an Information Secretary for Bazm-e-Ilm-o-Fun (Hazara Branch) Pakistan. Since November 2005, Kashif Butt is working as a General secretary for Fehm-al-Qur'an Foundation Trust®, which is an institute for Scientific, Intellectual & Spiritual Understanding of the Holy Quran. For a year 2010, Kashif Butt has served as editor literary page of Daily Shimla, Abbottabad District and now he is working at same position for Daily Nad-i-Khalq[18] Haripur District. Kashif Butt is hosting for the first Hindko channel of the world "Shamal TV".[19][20][21] A collection of his Urdu poetry has been published with the title of "Khuda Baantt Liya Ha".[22] Book is being discussed and considered as an important addition in Urdu literature and getting a great attention from readers due to its unique style and subject.

  • The literary Magazines included Adab Doast, Naerang-e-Khiyal, Adab Latif, Sher-o-Sukhan, Doar Kinaray, Khat Rang, Kainaat,[23] Sir Sabz, Aiwan-e-Urdu,[24] Biyaaz, Akkas, Kehkashaan International & others.
