Katano (交野市 Katano-shi?) is a city located in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on November 3, 1971.

As of 2010, the city has an estimated population of 77,680 and a population density of 3,040 persons per km2. The total area is 25.55 square kilometres (9.86 sq mi).[1]
