Krajná Poľana (Rusyn: Крайня Поляна, Hungarian: Ladomérmező) is a village and municipality in Svidník District in the Prešov Region of north-eastern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1618 AD. It's the oldest village in the region. The first name of village was "Hunkovska Polana". Since 1772 to the First World War the inhabitants lived in common with polish inhabitants from Barwinek, Tylawa and another villages. They got married. It was possible, because after First Partition of Poland the state border on the Carpathian main ridge was disappeared.

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 333 metres and covers an area of 2.943 km². It has a population of about 214 people. Next to way is a water dam on Ladomirka river.
