Leptotyphlops distanti is a species of snake in the family Leptotyphlopidae.[2][3] The species, Leptotyphlops distanti, is endemic to Southern Africa.[4]

Etymology

The specific name, distanti, is in honor of English entomologist William Lucas Distant.[5]

Geographic range

L. distanti is found in southern Mozambique, South Africa, and Swaziland.[1]

Description

Dorsally, L. distanti is gray-black. Ventrally, it is paler. Adults may attain a snout-vent length (SVL) of 22 cm (8.7 in).[4]
