The Oklahoma Sooners baseball program is a college baseball team that represents the University of Oklahoma. The team has had eight head coaches since organized baseball began 1898 with the nickname Sooners. The Sooners have played in more than 3,400 games during its 110 seasons. In those seasons, five coaches have won conference championships with the Sooners: Bill Owen, Lawrence Haskell, Jack Baer, Enos Semore and Larry Cochell. Two coaches have won national championships: Baer and Cochell. Semore is the all-time leader in games coached, years coached and wins. Owen is the overall leader in winning percentage. Baer is, in terms of winning percentage, the worst coach the Sooners have had. Of the eight head coaches, two have received National Coach of the Year honors. The current head coach is Sunny Golloway who was hired in July 2005.[1]
