The Longley Covered Bridge, also known as the Harnois Covered Bridge[2] is a wooden covered bridge that crosses the Trout River in Montgomery, Vermont on Longley Road. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.[1]
The bridge is of Town lattice design built by Sheldon & Savannah Jewett - brothers who built several bridges in the area.
Recent history
A complete restoration was conducted in 1992 by Jan Lewandoski.[3] At this time, the bridge is leaning to one side and the trusses are bowed in the middle. The bridge has been closed and bypassed by a temporary bridge.
