Lynne Elizabeth Maquat Ph.D., a member of the National Academy of Sciences, holds the J. Lowell Orbison Endowed Chair and is Professor of Biochemistry & Biophysics and of Oncology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Professor Maquat is also Founding Director of the Center for RNA Biology and Founding Chair of Graduate Women in Science at the University of Rochester.[1]
Maquat attended the University of Wisconsin. She has been published in more than 110 peer-reviewed journals and contributed to numerous books. Maquat is the 2014 of the ATHENA Award and has also received the 2013 University of Rochester President's Diversity Award and the 2014 William C. Rose Award.[1]
