Main Gunehgar Nahi

Main Gunehgar Nahi is a 2013 Urdu language Pakistani Television series, aired on Ary Digital. Mawra Hocane and Sami Khan played the leading roles, while Shamoon Abbasi and Faizan Khawaja also played pivotal roles. Main Gunehgar Nahi has 21 episodes and was proved to be a commercial success.

This show is also telecast in India on Zindagi from 25 March 2015 under the title "Ladki Hona Gunaah Nahin" Mon - Sat 10:30 pm.

Plot

Main Gunehgar Nahi is the heart-wrenching story of a young woman named Ammara (Mawra Hocane) whose whole world turns upside down after she becomes the victim of a barbarous crime. She is treated as a culprit and made to feel ashamed even though she is not guilty of anything. The people she trusts turn away from her. It is a realistic portrayal of male-dominated society and its double standards. Ammara is engaged to her neighbor Faizan (Sami Khan). Faizan always says he will not leave Ammara at any time or difficulty. But when she is raped by three robbers who are actually sons of rich men and did all this just for fun, because of bad character, Faizan breaks her engagement with Ammara and Ammara loses all her trust and hope. Everyone treats her as a criminal. She gets married to Zubair who just marries her for her money. At same say, Faizan gets married with Maira who already loves Abbas so she appears as a bad wife in Faizan's life. On the other hand, Ammara did everything just for Zubair's (Shamoon Abbasi) happiness but he treats her as if she is a sinner. Every one accepts Talha (Danish Ali) (Zubair's brother) just has a thirst for Ammara's money. Talha treats Ammara as his sister. One day, Talha tells Ammara that they are going to a party. He tells Ammara to get ready, i.e. to wear beautiful clothes and to do makeup. There, he sells her for a business deal. He brings her to a room then he leaves her alone where a man comes. As Ammara knows about Zubair's deal, she runs away from there. She realizes that she has not done any sin so why is the world treating her as if she is a sinner. She goes out of the house where the party is going on. There, she meets Zaid (Faizan Khawaja) who is a journalist. Zaid helps her and drops her to the home and brings her trust back in a man. They become friends. Ammara asks Zubair to give her divorce. Zubair doesn't take it seriously as he thinks Ammara to be a weak woman. He thinks that she cannot do anything without his help. But she becomes a strong woman and at last he gives her divorce. After being divorced, she starts living in her father's house and opens a boutique. Jumshaid(Ammara's brother)'s wife demand for a separate house as she thought that it is not good for her daughters to live with Ammara. Jumshaid shifts in a separate home but is not happy with her wife's decision. On the other hand, Faizan and his family(his mother and sister) go to attend a wedding of their relatives.Maira doesn't go with them. She calls Abbas to come to Faizan's house so as to spend some time with him. But Faizan and her family had a minor accident so they come back without attending the function of "mehndi". There, they see Maira and Abbas together, as a result of which Faizan gives divorces Maira. He now realizes how bad he had done with Ammara and he can't live without her so he sends her mother (who is also in a guilty of what she had done with Ammara) to Ammara's house for his proposal. Jumshaid gets angry and rejects Faizan's proposal. Zubair goes to Zaid to tell him about the rape scandal of Ammara to be published as a "chatpati" news in the news paper. Zaid becomes angry and throws him out of his office. Zubair comes to know that his liver cancer is in the final stage. When Ammara comes to know about this, she gives 10 lacs to Zubair's parents for his treatment. Before death, Zubair says to his father to go to Ammara's place and apologize on his behalf for what he had done with Ammara and then he dies. When his father goes to Ammara's house, he gives her all the money back and apologizes her on behalf of Zubair and his family. She forgives everyone. The three men who raped Ammara make a plan for robbery in Jumshaid's house. Before robbery, they go to a restaurant. Ammara and Zaid are already present there. Ammara remembers the faces of those robbers. She informs Zaid that they are those boys who raped her. Zaid became angry and goes to fight with them but Ammara stops him from doing this and says "humain sabit qadam rehna chahiye warna inhe shuk ho jaye ga,Ye jab dakaiti kar rhe hongay tau inhe rangay hathoon pakarwain gay". Zaid approves of Ammara. He then calls his friend who is in a senior rank of police. He sends his team of police before the boys. They go to Jamshaid's house and as they always do, want to rape her wife. But at the same time, police arrives and arrests them. When Jumshaid's wife comes to know that she is saved because of Ammara, she feels thankful to Ammara as she saved her honour and decides to live with them. Ammara is nominated for 10 fashion designers. She gives Zaid an interview for his newspaper with the title "main gunehgar nahi". Ammara(on Zaid's advise), agrees to marry Faizan. When Zaid comes to know about it he becomes very sad and it is revealed on him that he loves Ammara very much. Here, Ammara came to know that she also loves Zaid very much. She asks Faizan to go with Zaid he says that "jao main ne pehle bhi tumhain boht taqleef Di hai afar tum Zaid k sath khush ho tau jao ghar waloon ko mn samjha loonga". Then she goes to Zaid apartment where he proposes her and then they get married and live happily forever.
