Domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris) |
Maltipoos are a cross-breed/hybrid dog obtained by breeding a Maltese dog and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. They are commonly considered to be hypoallergenic, although this has not been scientifically proven. Maltipoos are a popular house pet due to their calm nature, wide range of colors, and small size.
Characteristics
Maltipoo is a hybrid a mix of a maltese and a poodle.
The Maltipoo is a fairly small dog, commonly weighing between 5 to 15 pounds and standing 8 to 14 inches high at the shoulder. It comes in a wide variety of colors, including black, white, brown, gray and fawn. Many Maltipoos are bicolor, with a mix of white and any other color on their bodies.
