Dr. Mayilvahanan Natarajan (born December 24, 1954) is a noted Indian surgeon who has made substantial contributions to the specialties of Orthopedic oncology, Medical training, Health administration, Medical ethics and invention of Custom Mega Prostheses to avoid amputation for Bone tumor patients.[1] For his efforts, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the government of India in 2007.[2]

Mayilvahanan Natarajan, an elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences,[3] was the 7th Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.[4] He was the first Indian to be elected as the millennium president 2000 - 2002 to The Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumour Society.

Biography

Mayilvahanan Natarajan was born as the third child of Dr. Natarajan and Janaki on 24 December 1954. He joined Madras Medical College for his MBBS course in 1971.
