History
The energy demand has been increasing dramatically during past decades, leading more important role of these scattering energy institutes to economic development of country and sometimes the operating in one institute may affect significantly to the other if there is a lack of coordination and policy unity, since 1986 the government has taken coordination of policy and the supervision of scattering institutes into consideration in order to operate concordantly which led to the establishment of the National Energy Policy Committee in 1992 (B.E.2535) under the National Energy Policy Council Act (1992) and is responsible for managing the energy sector in Thailand, including granting energy operating licenses and issuing energy pricing regulations.
