Muhtasham Kashani

Muhtasham Kashani (1500-1588) (محتشم کاشانی) is an Iranian poet who lived in the time of Safavid time and had an influence on Persian and Day of Ashura poetry.[1] He was born in Kashan and died there. He is well-known because of his poem about Imam al-Husayn (a)'s martyrdom[2] which is known as Tarkib band.[3]

Mohtasham Kaashaani (Kamāl-al-Din Mohtasham Kāšāni, Persian: محتشم کاشانی, also known as Šams-al-šoʿarā) (1528–1588) was a Persian poet of Safavid’s period. He is mainly known by his elegy on martyrdom of Imam Hossein and his family. His main job, like his father, was cloth industry (in Kashan) before he chose poetry as the main field.[4]
