Nepal competed at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, from July 27 to August 12, 2012. This was the nation's twelfth appearance at the Olympics, excluding the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City.
The Nepal Olympic Committee sent the nation's smallest delegation to the Games, since the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Five athletes were selected to the team by receiving wild card places in athletics, shooting, and swimming, without having qualified. Four of them had competed in their first Olympics. Freestyle swimmer Prasiddha Jung Shah, who made his second Olympic appearance in London, became the nation's flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
Nepal, however, has yet to win its first ever Olympic medal.

Tilak Ram Tharu (100 metres) and Pramila Rijal (100 metres) are scheduled to take part in athletic events after gaining two universality places from the IAAF.[2]
