The court has general appellate jurisdiction over the state district courts and certain state agencies. The only exceptions to this grant of jurisdiction are:

Ten judges sit on the court, each with their own paralegal and law clerk.

  1. Monica Zamora won against Governor Susana Martinez's appointed judge, J. Miles Hanisee, in the 2012 general election.
  3. J. Miles Hanisee was appointed in July 2011 to fill the seat of Robert E. Robles who resigned after pleading guilty to driving with intoxicated.
