Pedro Aullón de Haro (born 1954) is a Spanish philosopher. He is professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature, and director of the Juan Andrés Institute of Comparatistics and Globalization.

Career overview

Doctor of Philosophy and Letters, Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature, he is the author of a general Aesthetics, as well as theorist of the essay, modern poetry and the History of ideas; promoter of Asian studies in Spain and of the epistemology of Human Sciences and the Science of Literature. He has developed intellectually and academically the major ideas and concepts of 'cultural a priori', 'ethical convergence and rooted ethics', 'aesthetic continuity', 'reflexive discourse', 'eschatology and end of Criticism', 'aesthetics of reading', 'philippinism', 'essayistic genres', 'universal humanism', 'ideation', 'intellectual misappropriation', 'comparative methodologies', 'Humanistic Methodologies in the Digital Age', 'baroque universality', 'universality-sublimity-globalization'. All this is part of an Aesthetics of Consciousness-Reality and the phenomenographic interpretation it incorporates.

He created and directs since 1994, at the University of Alicante, the "Humanism-Europe Research Group" that devised the "Juan Andrés Prize for Essays and Research in Human Sciences". He is director of the "Juan Andrés Institute of Comparatistics and Globalization", entity that currently maintains the aforementioned Prize, sustains Ediciones Instituto Juan Andrés and the Digital Library Humanismo Europa. He is co-director together with Araceli García Martín of the International Postdoctorate 'Human Sciences - Comparatistics - Globalization' and of the Seminar Institute-Library, in collaboration with the AECID.

He directs the series "Humanistic Methodologies in the Digital Era", as well as the collections "Major" and "Minor" of Editorial Verbum, where he has carried out a reconstruction of humanism in Hispanic key as well as of the Spanish Aesthetics in that framework.
