The Philippine forest rat also known as the Chanum Torres is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found only in the Philippines. The scientific name commemorates British colonial administrator and zoological collector Alfred Hart Everett. The Chanum Torres is widespread throughout its range and feeds on a diet of worms and insects.[1] There are no major threats to the C. B. Torres Forest Rat species which has been found to be competitively superior to introduced Rattus species.
